Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) একটি মাঠ পর্যায়ের মাটি পরীক্ষার যন্ত্র, যা সাবগ্রেড ও মাটির শক্তি দ্রুত নির্ণয় করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। একটি স্ট্যান্ডার্ড DCP সেটে সাধারণত স্টিলের একাধিক penetration rod থাকে, যেগুলো সেগমেন্ট আকারে জোড়া লাগানো যায়। নিচে থাকে একটি ৬০° হার্ডেনড স্টিল cone tip, যা মাটির ভেতরে প্রবেশ করে। উপরের দিকে থাকে নির্দিষ্ট ওজনের (সাধারণত ৮ কেজি) একটি sliding hammer, যা নির্দিষ্ট উচ্চতা থেকে ফেলে আঘাতের মাধ্যমে রডকে মাটির ভিতরে প্রবেশ করানো হয়। হ্যামারের আঘাত গ্রহণের জন্য একটি anvil/hammer stop থাকে, যা রডকে সুরক্ষা দেয়। যন্ত্রটি সোজা ও স্থির রাখার জন্য নিচে একটি base plate দেওয়া থাকে এবং penetration depth মাপার জন্য পাশে একটি measuring scale/ruler থাকে। রডগুলো সংযুক্ত করার জন্য threaded coupler থাকে, সাথে থাকে প্রয়োজনীয় spanner ও টুলস। পুরো সেটটি বহন ও সংরক্ষণের সুবিধার জন্য একটি কাঠের ক্যারিং বক্সে সরবরাহ করা হয়।
